Board Members and Staff
Marie Lim - Founder and President
Marie began riding horses at the age of five. She has served as a horse trainer and an equestrian instructor for more than forty years. Marie studied Physical Education, Nutrition and Theater at the University of New Mexico, and received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, and later studied at the Central New Mexico Community College. Marie is an experienced educator, having taught Equine Education at J.F.K. Charter School in Albuquerque and swimming at the Y.M.C.A. Marie is committed to helping others and teaching Equine Activities through her work at HAPPI Farm.
Demetria Clayton- Vice President
Demetria Clayton is a non-profit manager that has ten years of experience with community development and outreach. In October of 2021 Demetria volunteered for community service with HAPPI Farm. She decided to join our team to assist as the director of operations. Recently graduating with a master's degree from Full Sail University, Demetria has ambitions of contributing to the entertainment industry through her creative endeavors. As the vice-president of HAPPI Farm, she seeks to assist with program development, upkeep and daily functions. Demetria has a strong desire to work with children and to create opportunities for those with special needs.
Suganth Kannan - Secretary/Treasurer of the Board
Suganth Kannan, is now studying Business in Wharton Business School in UPenn in Philadelphia. Very passionate in his work, Suganth's love for animals brought him to our farm. We connected from day one, through his work ethics and contagious smile. Suganth is ahead of his age; carrying out his research and social media marketing networking. He has completed several projects for HAPPI Farm, such as website designing and recruiting volunteers from local universities. Additionally, Suganth has organized several fund raisers in order for HAPPI Farm to obtain a canopy tent, a handicapped ramp and a mounting motor lift.
Cassidy Lim - Volunteer Riding Instructor
Cassidy grew up riding horses working with the family business. At a very young age he was trick riding and entering rodeo competitions. Together with his mom, Marie, he gave pony rides, riding lessons and trail rides. Now Cassidy is the father of two daughters, an expert rider and experienced riding instructor. Cassidy has a love for the horses and makes all the children and adults feel welcomed and cared for.
Forest Williams - Volunteer Therapeutic Riding Instructor
Forest Williams is the owner of Envision Web Development, a full service web and graphic design firm based in Plantation Florida; founded in 2005. Forest also founded two not-for-profit organizations; Free Charity Design.com is a full service design firm that does free graphic and web design for 501 (c) (3)s nationally and currently services over 20 charities. Forest’s other charity is Angels for the Holidays, a 501 (c) (3), founded in 2011. Angels “adopts” underprivileged children nationally at the holiday and fulfills gift wish lists that the children submit. In 2012 Angels adopted 267 children.
Alison Volpe - Volunteer Licensed Massage Therapist
Alison Volpe is a Spa/Fitness Director with 20 years of experience in working in the field. Alison obtained a Bachelors Degree in Fitness & Nutrition from the University of Central Florida and a Masters in Exercise Physiology from Florida international University. Currently she is working towards a doctorate in natural medicine and holistic nutrition. Alison has been selected to represent the city of Sunny Isles in the Ms. Florida Pageant and is reaching out all over South Florida to help promote wellness throughout the community. Alison does sports and rehabilitation works at HAPPI Farm and assists with the transformation of our students.
